Purpose
I am a Hmong-American daughter constantly evolving, learning, and growing into the woman I’m meant to become. I spend a lot of my time watching documentaries, thinking, reflecting, reading, and photographing little moments in my life. The other half of my time is calculating my day so I can get at least 8 hours of sleep because sleep is so essential for long-term memory consolidation (and life, really). But of course, spending a moment, sharing a drink, and making memories with family and friends may occasionally trump sleep.
My hopes are to use this space as a place where I can openly express some of my thoughts, perspectives, and reflections from my experiences. While there is a time and place for proper grammar and syntax, in this blog you may find multiple comma splices, improper syntax, and ideas that may sound incompletely thought out. I want to remain as true and authentic to my temporal time of reflection and writing as possible in order to experience and document my growth in life as it is happening.
Lastly, I hope this blog can give you an idea, serve as a catalyst for a discussion, help you reflect on your own experiences, and most importantly help drive you to purposefully live a more authentic, meaningful life. Let’s grow together.
Sincerely,
Sally Hang, M.A.
